Let's see, my name is Courtney Takabayashi and I grew up in Kāneʻohe in the beautiful state of Hawaiʻi. Since Kāneʻohe is located on the Windward side of Oʻahu, it rained a lot so I love cool, wet weather.
I've had a bunch of jobs including teaching English in Japan, working at interesting places including the Bishop Museum, Chanel, Hawaii Theatre Center, and the Governor's Office in the State Capitol. I taught English at a community college for five years where I was able to share my love of writing with my students and equip them with the reading, writing, and critical thinking skills necessary to succeed in life.
I'm currently a corporate writer at a health care company in Honolulu. I write for internal corporate customers and for IslandScene.com and their quarterly member magazine, Island Scene.
In my free time I like to write, resell, Instagram my cat, and consume pop culture in mass quantities. I have a video game-playing husband and a wonderful best friend who is my soul baboon. If you can make me laugh, we'll be friends for life.
Me circa 1982 at my grandparent's house in Lanikai.
