Incoming!

Today, we got some exciting news. Like really, really exciting!

That tiny little jellybean is the newest member of the Takabayashi family. It's a Christmas Eve Eve miracle!

Years ago, I wanted to have a baby while I was still in my 30s. Well, my 30s came and went. But as we learned from Aaliyah, "age ain't nothing but a number." Then, earlier this year, I read an article about Lisa Bonet giving birth to her last child at age 41. As I was 40-years-old at the time, I thought that was an achievable dream. And here I am, knocked up and so excited.

I'm also very nervous and anxious. All the pressure to be a good mom starts now. I just have to remember what a great mom my mother was and try my best. I'm sad that my child will never know their Grandma Jan, but I feel like she's watching over me thinking, "Finally, Courtney!" Finally, indeed.

So here's to a healthy pregnancy and baby and a lifetime of love to look forward to. Wish me luck!
