OMG 11 Months How?!

When our friends' baby, who's four months older than Baby T., turned one, I tried to prepare myself for the inevitable. Soon we'd have a one-year old in the house. And yet, three months later, I'm still in shock that Baby T. is 11-months old! Like the title of the post says, HOW?!

Well, time waits for no mama to come to terms with her baby getting older so here we are. Hopefully by next month it will be no big deal! I'll be too busy with Baby T.'s drive by 1st birthday party. That's right, even though the world is reopening, I still feel wary about throwing a party with people staying and mingling and holding the baby so drive by it is! I'm old fashioned (?) that way.

It's been a pretty quiet month but here are some Baby T. observations:
  • So far, Baby T. isn't a picky eater. How wonderful! New foods Baby T. ate include: guava, raspberry, kale, mango, and kimi balls! She also drank from a normal cup.
  • A top tooth is slightly emerging.
  • She's saying "Dada" more and more, which is adorable.
  • Baby T. is obsessed with pulling herself up and standing. She can even balance for a few seconds before falling down.
  • Sometimes while she was balances, she claps her hands!
  • Baby T. wore slippers for the first time and walked around with them for a few seconds before kicking them off in the yard.
  • She met a puppy for the first time! It's a eight-week old husky/golden retriever mix. The puppy is a tiny fuzzball of energy and likes to lick Baby T. and nip at her, which she's not used to.
  • We play peek-a-boo with Baby T. all the time and usually we hold up a blanket and she pulls it down. But for the first time, she held up the blanket and pulled it down herself. When we screamed, "Peek-a-boo" she laughed and laughed!
  • We have this animal pop up toy and if we pop up all the animals, Baby T. won't rest until they're all hidden again. On the other hand, if we stack blocks or shapes, she knocks them down as soon as possible.
  • We took her to Best Buy last week when our router died. I wore her and I thought she'd be okay though she'd never been in a retail store. Baby T. was not okay and had a meltdown. We had to wait in the car while Dada bought the router. Poor thing, I don't know what set her off. She was fine when we walked in then all of a sudden started screaming!
  • Baby T. had her very first photo shoot. It was with my uncle who's a photographer so it was nice to catch up. We hadn't seen them since my baby shower a year ago! Baby T. did well and the pics came out pretty darn cute.

Just one more month until the big one year celebration! I'm equal parts excited and terrified!
